Who We Are 

 Practitioners of The Paracelsian Order are members of Madre Grande Monastery, the headquarters of The Paracelsian Order, or of The Lovelight Order. This is an eclectic, monastic order of monks and friars in healing and teaching professions.  They are trained in Loving-Kindness and Mindfulness Meditation, Reiki, and various other healing modalities. Everyone is invited to experience our treatments, classes, and counseling. We encourage learning from the wisdom of all ages and traditions. We are a center for learning and for open sharing of ideas. We wish to inspire growth, transformation and sustainability for ourselves, our relationships, and our Earth.

Rt. Rev. John H Drais is Abbot of The Paracelsian Order, monk of Madre Grande Monastery, Bishop of the Johannine Catholic Church, Metaphysical Minister, Warrior of the Sun in the Church of Tzaddi, Commander and Strobinneler in the ancient Celtic Order of Brittany, and Master Teacher in the Usui system of Reiki manual healing. With over thirty-five years experience teaching Loving-Kindness and Mindfulness meditation techniques, he has credentialed many teachers and practitioners who have integrated his methods into their own unique work.

Rev. Sally E Lee, Prior of the The Paracelsian Order, has been a monk of Madre Grande Monastery since 1986. She is a Reiki Master and Metaphysical Minister. Since 2001 she has been an Addictions Counselor and has led groups and workshops for men and women in recovery. She is an experienced meditator and leads a weekly meditation group in San Diego and periodical meditation workshops.

Dr. Monica E Maghiar, Secretary of The Paracelsian Order, is a postulant monk at Madre Grande Monastery. She has been practicing dentistry since 1990 in Romania and the United States, integrating into her expertise principles of energy medicine and Loving-Kindness meditation. She is also a Reiki Practitioner. Dr. Maghiar's key message is "compassionate service to others is the beginning of inner work."

Rev. Alan B Beck is a Friar of The Paracelsian Order and its agent for The Lovelight Order. Renown as a neighborhood healer before he was old enough to shave, Alan Beck has been involved with potent energy work since the early Sixties. With many of his generation, he studied Eastern and Western esoteric traditions, taking special note of vital threads running through both. After receiving initiation and instruction for Avalokiteshvara, Kalachakra, Manjushri, Padmasambhava, Green, White, and Red Tara, Vajrasattva, and other key Tantric tutelaries, he experimented extensively with Alchemical, Chaos, Enochian, Solomonic, and Thelemic operations. He was also certified and practiced extensively as a third degree Reiki Master in the Usui lineage. A professional writer and editor since graduating from Lake Forest College, Alan occupied a vice-presidential chair with Tabor Communications, the world’s foremost publisher of journals dealing with all aspects of supercomputing and mass storage technologies. Following his retirement, a casual encounter with Starets Sergei of Kyzyl brought him full-circle to his first loves: energetic therapeutics and spiritual development.
