Let the Great Mother help nurture and guide you, at Madre Grande Monastery.

We are currently limited to six guest beds in the house, but have ample room and facilities for camping, including outdoor showers and a camp kitchen. We also have a community room, the Sun Center, available for group indoor activities. Our Mediation room in the main house offers a more intimate and contemplative space for smaller groups.

On the land we have a hiking trails, Labyrinth, Medicine Wheel, and many wonderful natural rock grottos and oak groves to explore and enjoy.

The Monks of Madre Grande are caretakers for the Sacred land on which we live, and we actively seek to share this powerful site with others. If you are searching for an isolated natural setting to conduct your Spiritual teaching, healing program or method, or gathering and celebration of life, then please consider letting us host your event.

When Madre Grande Monastery was founded in 1975, one of the primary goals was to create “a permanent site for healing celebrations”. Over the years, thousands of people have participated in hundreds of gatherings, retreats, ceremonies, classes, and festivals of all kinds, ranging in size from less than a dozen to many hundreds of people. Keeping the land and facilities available to the public for spiritual healing and growth is an important part of our practice and Mission.
