The Land Is Our Church

Madre Grande Monastery is the home of the monks and friars of the Paracelsian  Order, and a natural sanctuary located on 264 acres of hilly boulder strewn land near Dulzura, CA.   Since its inception in 1975 as a spiritual community of mindfulness and loving kindness, Madre Grande has been the site of numerous gatherings, classes, ceremonies, and celebrations. Hundreds of spiritual seekers have lived here over the years, and thousands more have visited and enjoyed the land and facilities.  The monks and friars are caretakers and stewards of the land, the Earth, our Great Mother.

Madre Grande is a private residence and is not open to the public.

Members and personal guests are welcome.

If you are interested in visiting as a personal guest, please  contact us. If you are interested in becoming a lay member (or Friar of the Order), please click here. Four times per year, on each Equinox and Solstice, we plan to have gatherings that are open to the public. For more information on our seasonal celebrations, go here. We appreciate your interest and support in Madre Grande Monastery, the Paracelsian Order, and the natural sanctuary and Sacred Land that is our home.
